John has been in the workshop this past month making keepsake boxes. I did share a post on how he makes the box a few weeks ago. You can see that post here. The boxes are a bit more complicated than a hinge top box. These boxes have two handmade drawers lined in green felt.
The drawers are large enough to store a collection of watches, pens, keys, jewelry for both a man and a woman. John has stressed the finishes on these boxes. He has always been a detail crafter; committed to fine craftsmanship and very fussy about his finishes.
I see these on both a woman’s and a man’s bedroom dresser or desk. However, I am sure you could use them elsewhere. I love boxes and use my hinged top box to store my TV remotes and schedule. It sits on my TV stand.
We bought different wood to make the boxes. The walnut box was soooo expensive, we are thinking of making those a special order item. Here are the handmade keepsake boxes:
The boxes all measure Approx. 12 in long x 8 in tall x 7 in deep
The Walnut Box
The Mahogany Box with metal knob
Oak Box stained a light walnut with metal knob
Oak with mahogany stain and brass metal pull
Popular with dark walnut-mission brown stain and brass metal bar pull
White with chrome bar pulls
We can make and stain or paint it for you. We will make it to your specifications as to wood, stain or paint color.
These boxes are for sale on our ETSY store here.
Thanks for looking. Please leave a comment and tell me what you think about these keepsake boxes…any uses you can see I didn’t mention?
